Area Community Forums

The Forums provide an opportunity for residents to meet representatives of the District Council and other organisations, to ask questions and air views.

February forums

The latest round of Area Community Forums took place in February 2013 in Shirley, Wirksworth and Bakewell. Residents were invited to have their say on our spending plans for the coming financial year and offer their say on a car parking review.

Derbyshire County Council presented an overview of funding awarded through the Community Action, Sports Action and Community Building Grant Schemes and information on new sources of County Council funding.

There was also an update at the Shirley event on the development of Ashbourne Library.

Also, the customary Question Time session enabled audience members to ask questions and make comments and suggestions to the various representatives from participating authorities, which, in addition to the District Council, usually include Derbyshire Constabulary, Derbyshire County Council and the Peak District National Park Authority and Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service.
