The next round of Area Community Forums will take place in autumn 2015 in Bakewell, Hulland Ward and Darley Dale.  They will be the first opportunity local residents have to express a view on estimates projecting 6,500 new homes in the Derbyshire Dales by the year 2033.

The Forums take place at:

All start at 7 pm and anyone who can't attend in person can email questions in advance to communityforum@derbyshiredales.gov.uk or via the District Council's Facebook and Twitter pages. The 14 October forum will also feature a live Twitter feed.

Cllr Lewis Rose OBE

A formal consultation on the new housing estimate will follow in November, but local people are welcome to have their say at the public forums.

Other hot topics up for discussion include the LEADER programme, providing grants of £2,500 for small businesses and community groups in rural areas, and the District Council's street cleansing service.

Council Leader Councillor Lewis Rose OBE said:

"As a council we pride ourselves on our readiness to listen to what our residents are saying about the big issues in their communities.

"We know that the announcement by consultants of the number of new homes they think need to be built in the district in the coming years is already a talking point, and we will be revealing at these forums how we intend to gather feedback on whether people agree or disagree with the estimates.

"We also welcome questions on any local issues that may be causing particular concern."

A Question Time session will enable audience members to ask questions and make comments and suggestions to the various representatives from participating authorities.
