Derbyshire County Council, as the highway authority, has the responsibility for the majority of functions and service areas associated with transport and streets within the Derbyshire Dales district.

We work with Derbyshire County Council to provide certain services such as grass cutting relating to road safety and gully emptying under an agency agreement.

We have direct responsibility for other services; mainly street cleaning and related issues.

Gritting

The District Council does not provide a road gritting function, these works are undertaken by Derbyshire County Council.  Information on gritting can be found on the County Council website, by following the "Gritting" link on the left hand side.
