Funding for sport and active recreation

We offer a service to local sports clubs and organisations that can advise on potential funding sources for their project at an early stage. We may also be able to provide some funding for your local community project through one of the following schemes:

£40 million Sport England fund

National Lottery funding will be invested through the Community Sport Activation Fund to support grassroots activity right across the country. It is part of Sport England's strategy to deliver a lasting sporting legacy from last year's successful Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Community groups, charities and councils are among those that can bid for funding for up to three years, with grants of between £50,000 and £250,000 on offer for a wide range of projects from family-friendly activities to multi-sport sessions.

You can find full details of the fund through the Sport England website.

Ernest Bailey Charity

Derbyshire Dales District Council are also responsible for the allocation of funding from the Ernest Bailey Charity. To access these funds you must reside within the Matlock and District.
