The Derbyshire Federation for Mental Health

Friday "Kick Start" Weekly Walks 2.00pm - meet at the Federation Base at Unit 7, Lime Tree Business Park, Lime Tree Road, Matlock, DE4 3EJ

Local walks with a friendly group. All abilities welcome with the pace set by the walkers themselves.  Meet up at 1.50pm for a 2.00pm start for a walk of up to an hour , an hour and a half plus time for refreshments.

The Farming Life Centre

Thursday Monthly Easy walks 1.30pm – 2.30pm

Supporting the well-being of Peak District Farming Communities

A gentle afternoon walk, monthly on Thursdays. Meet at 1.15 for a 1.30 – 2.30pm walk, with the opportunity for refreshments and a good chat afterwards!

Our walks are short and ‘Easy’ but may involve some stiles or ascents/descents over a short distance. They have been chosen to ensure we are on good surfaces whatever the weather, however, in the event of extreme weather conditions, please contact the Centre beforehand on 01298 85162 to confirm the walk is going ahead

Castleton - Thursday 8 December 2016.

Meet at the far right of the visitors centre car park

We go for a pleasant circular walk behind the village of Castleton with spectacular views towards Peveril Castle.

Refreshments at the 3 roots café.

Ashford in the Water: Thursday 5 January

Meet near Holy Trinity Chuch, street parking available

A walk around this historic village and across the fields towards Bakewell with lovely views of the river, lake and weir. Possibility of being a little muddy. Finishing with coffee and cakes at one of the local cafes.

Hassop Station & Monsal Trail: Thursday 5 January

Meet outside Hassop Station, car parking available

A flat walk up the trail towards Thornbridge Hall Station and return. Coffee and cakes back at the Hassop Station café.

Baslow to Chatsworth: Thursday 9 March

Meet at main Derbyshire Dales Car Park at Nether End in Baslow behind the village hall.

A lovely walk starting in Baslow village going through the wheelchair gate into Chatsworth Park. Passing the cricket ground and following the river. Coffee afterwards.

Roll and Stroll Accessible Walks

1st Monday of the Month 11.00am (March - October)

Enable have been providing care and support services to people with learning difficulties since 1990. We also provide supported housing for people aged 55 and over, and a range of other services to vulnerable people.

Roll and Stroll are fully accessible walks led by qualified walk leaders. The walks start and finish from the venue where the pace and length of walk are set by you. Disabled parking, good food, refreshments and accessible toilets (sometimes radar keys) are available – bring a packed lunch or get some lunch at the cafes.

This year we have run very successful walks from Hassop Station along the popular Monsal Trail, from Carsinton Water Visitor Centre along the resevoir edge, and from Cromford Wharf along the beautiful Cromford Canal.

Wear appropriate shoes and check the weather forecast and bring waterproofs or a brolly if necessary.

 

Monday 6 March – Hassop Station on the Monsal Trail 11.00am - 1.00pm

Come and join us at Hassop Station Café,  Hassop Road, Bakewell DE45 1NW. Disabled parking, good food, refreshments, accessible toilets and picnic tables are available at the station café.

We will enjoy a lovely level walk along the popular the Monsal Trail.

Dales Heart Cardiac Support Group

Dales Heart is a group of people with heart disease plus their spouses, partners and carers, offering mutual support in a social setting.

We meet on the 4th Wednesday of the month at different venues.
