Public Access provides you with access to Planning Applications received by us. Users should note that we only deal with Planning Applications which are not in the Peak District National Park, as those in the Peak Park are dealt with by the National Park Authority in Bakewell.
Initial planning documents will be available within 5 days of receipt for all valid planning applications and can be viewed via Associated Documents Tab within Public Access - these are only available for applications which were validated after July 2005. In all cases copies of the original documents are available to view at either Planning Reception, Town Hall, Matlock, DE4 3NN or Ashbourne Leisure Centre, Leisure Way, Ashbourne, DE6 1AA (both are open Mon - Fri 9am till 5pm).
Please note that this system will be unavailable between 1am and 6am each morning while the system is being backed up.
Users must note that whilst every effort has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the data, the planning information contained within the site is incomplete and must not be used for carrying out a formal "Local Land Charges Search". It also cannot re relied upon to constitute a full planning history for a site. No responsibility will be taken for any errors or omissions in planning information obtained and no liability is accepted for loss or damage arising from the use of planning information obtained from this site whether foreseeable or otherwise. You may only use material that is downloaded and / or printed from this website for consultation purposes, to compare current planning applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans.

Any representations submitted may be disclosed to the applicant and will be available for public inspection, with copies made available if requested, in accordance with the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985. If the case goes to appeal, your comments will be sent to the appellant and the Planning Inspectorate. The Inspectorate may publish details of your comments, on the Internet (on the Appeals area of the Planning Portal). Your comments may include your name, address, email address or phone number, please ensure that you only provide information, including personal information belonging to you that you are happy will be made available to others in this way. If you supply information belonging to a third party please ensure you have their permission to do so.
