Local Development Scheme
The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires the Council to prepare a Local Development Scheme (LDS). This provides the starting point for the local community to find out what the Council's current planning policies are for the area and sets out the programme for the review and preparation of Local Development Documents (LDDs) that will form the Council's Local Development Framework (LDF).
A revised LDS was submitted to the Secretary of State on 18th December 2008 to cover the period December 2008 to December 2011. Changes to the LDS were required for two reasons. Firstly the Council has agreed to work with High Peak Borough Council on a Joint Core Strategy, which required harmonisation of the timetables in both Council's Local Development Schemes. Secondly the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 were brought into effect on 27th June 2008. The changes to the regulations modified the consultation arrangements for the production of Development Plan Documents and have been taken into account in the programme included in the Local Development Scheme.
The Council's revised Local Development Scheme was brought into effect on 19th February 2009.
The documents identified in the LDS 2008 - 2011 are the Joint Derbyshire Dales and High Peak Core Strategy; Housing and Employment Land Allocations Development Plan Document; Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document; Proposals Maps; and Annual Monitoring Report.
