The ‘Do Business’ exhibition at Bakewell Town Hall included free workshops to help local companies with marketing, e-business and general support.
Owners of local holiday cottages, bed and breakfasts and a soap company mingled with photographers, accountants, graphic designers and a whole host of other businesses.
Support organisations taking part included Derbyshire Dales District Council, Business Link and HM Revenue and Customs.
Helen Duncan, MD of event organisers First Impression, said: “We had a lot of interest and were very pleased with the feedback and the day.”
Councillor Lewis Rose, OBE, Derbyshire Dales District Council Leader and Economy Champion of the Local Strategic Partnership said: “This successful event encouraged companies in and around Bakewell not only to do business with each other, but to look at new ways of attracting companies outside the area to come and see what this town and the Derbyshire Dales in general has to offer.
“ln these tough economic times we are continually listening to the views of local people and businesses and looking at ideas such as this event that will ease financial concerns locally.”
