July Area Community Forums

29 June 2009

Derbyshire Dales District Council is holding it’s next round of Area Community Forums on:

• Monday 6 July, 7 pm - Agricultural Business Centre, Bakewell
• Monday 20 July, 7 pm - St Josephs Community Hall, Matlock
• Monday 27 July, 7 pm - St Oswald's Church Hall, Ashbourne

District Council Leader, Councillor Lewis Rose OBE, said: “This is an opportunity for residents to hear about what the District Council is doing to combat the effects of the current economic climate, including the Debt Advice Service and what is being done to support the local tourism industry, businesses and individuals. I hope the Forums will be well attended.”

Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service will be attending to talk about last year’s achievements, including a fall in the number of domestic fires and anti social behaviour related incidents such as arson.   They will also highlight plans and priorities for the year ahead and give information on how to get a fire safety check.

The Forums will also feature a presentation by Derbyshire Constabulary on 'Customer Satisfaction', which will detail key actions that B Division police are going to focus on over the next 12 months talking particularly about neighbourhood policing and perceptions of crime and antisocial behaviour.

The Peak District National Park Authority will give a presentation entitled ‘Live and Work’.

Representatives from Derbyshire County Council will also attend and there will be an opportunity to raise matters of local concern during the General Question Time.
