Derbyshire Dales District Council will provide people aged 60 and over and people aged 16 and under with free admission to the our swimming pools.
The new initiative, called Swim 4 Life is part of a national initiative to encourage more people to take up swimming to stay active and healthy.
Free Swimming is funded by the government and the district council and will last for two years, starting on 1 April 2009. After the two year period, it is likely that the normal charges will be reintroduced.
