The Big Splash

Derbyshire Dales District Council's pools in Ashbourne, Matlock and Bakewell are all taking part in the nation's biggest ever swimming campaign. We have joined forces with British Swimming and the BBC to bring you the Big Splash - the world's largest celebration of swimming inspiring you to swim! The BBC, British Swimming and local swimming pools across the country are all working together to launch a new mass participation campaign so that more people will learn to swim and swim more regularly - helping the UK get fitter, healthier and more active ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games.

Fitness Class Programmes

Fitness Class Montage

Arc Leisure Matlock and Ashbourne and Wirksworth Leisure Centres' fitness class programmes which were launched earlier in the autumn are all proving to be very popular! The programmes include new classes for 2011 such as Zumba and Aqua Jogging as well as old favourites like X-Bikes, Aerobics, Circuits, Pilates and many more. FA Affiliated Small-Sided Football Leagues

Derbyshire Dales first FA affiliated small-sided football, the Arc Leisure Matlock League had a fantastc first season and will recommence in January 2012. Check out the latest scores and league positions here.

The Arc Leisure Matlock League has been so popular, we are now delighted to announce the launch of the Wirksworth Leisure Centre 5-A-Side Football League, if you would like to apply to join this brand new league starting in April2012, please complete the application form and return it to Dave Turvey, Leisure Services, Town Hall, Matlock DE4 3NN or email dave.turvey@derbyshiredales.gov.uk.
