Matlock Bath Illuminations Flickr GalleryMatlock Bath Illuminations feature a unique parade of illuminated and decorated boats on the River Derwent every weekend throughout September and October. Each boat carries a decorated model and as darkness falls the boats disappear into the blackness below, leaving the models apparently gliding along just above the water.  On certain Saturday nights (17th Sept, 1st Oct, 15th Oct, 29th Oct) there are also spectacular firework displays at 9.00pm. 

The parade of Illuminated and decorated boats takes place 8.00pm to 9.00pm every Saturday and Sunday during the season – with a programme of entertainment on or near the bandstand in Derwent Gardens each evening, commencing at 7.00pm.   Last admission 8.45pm.

Parking and Park & Ride

Car Parking is available in Matlock Bath, at the Pavilion Car Park (short stay), Temple Road Car Park (long stay) and Station Car Park (long stay).  There are also coach parking bays in the Station car Park.

Please note that the Pavilion Car Park is closed on Saturdays 17th September, 1st, 15th and 29th October for the Park & Ride service.

A park & ride service will operate on the firework nights from Cromford Meadows (DE4 3RQ) and County Offices (DE4 3AG) in Matlock.  This will operate from 5pm and costs £1 per adult.  It is advisable to use the Park & Ride service after 5pm as the car parks in Matlock Bath will be full on firework nights.
