Derbyshire Arts Partnership

The Derbyshire Arts Partnership is a new way of working between Arts Council England and all ten local authorities in Derbyshire, including Derbyshire County Council.
The Arts Partnership has been developed to encourage joint working between Derbyshire County Council, Amber Valley Borough Council, Bolsover District Council, Chesterfield Borough Council, Derbyshire Dales District Council, Erewash Borough Council, High Peak Borough Council, North East Derbyshire District Council and South Derbyshire District Council.

The aims of the Partnership are to develop the creative arts economy and to encourage young people to take part in the arts. To this end, the partnership is supporting the following projects this year:

  • Crafts in the Cases. During the rest of the year, work by these makers and others will form the basis of a series of selling exhibitions touring the county, curated by Josie Walter. The work will be shown in specially commissioned cases in five Derbyshire libraries (Alfreton, Bolsover, Glossop, Long Eaton and Melbourne).
  • Grants for Derbyshire Artists 2008/09. The Arts Partnership will be offering grants of up to £500 through Design Factory, to support marketing development for artists in the County. For more details contact: Arts Partnership Manager.
  • Design Factory - Shaping the future of craft and design in the East Midlands. To find out how you can benefit or get involved email info@designfactory.org or ring 01529 414830 / 414532.
  • artsderbyshire website. The Arts Derbyshire website, is now up and running.
