Arts in the Derbyshire Dales (ADD) Scheme

  • To support projects aimed at developing new and innovative artistic projects in the Derbyshire Dales.
  • To support projects which offer opportunities to communities within the Derbyshire Dales to engage in the arts

Who can apply

Individuals, community groups, youth organisations, professional artists, voluntary artists, festival committees, or registered charities based within the area of Derbyshire Dales.

It is not possible to fund projects retrospectively.

Aims of the Scheme

  • To support projects which offer opportunities to communities within the Derbyshire Dales to engage in the arts
  • To support projects which offer opportunities to communities within the Derbyshire Dales to engage in the arts

Criteria

The project must aim to achieve one or more of the following objectives from Derbyshire Dales District Council's 'Promoting the Dales' strategy.

  1. To enhance the quality of life for people living, working and visiting the Derbyshire Dales.
  2. To encourage a cohesive network of arts organisations
  3. To assist in the support of local creative industries
  4. Development of initiatives combating rural isolation and targeting communities, particularly young people and disabled people.

The project cannot be wholly funded by other sources such as Lottery grants or other Local Authority community grant schemes. Projects that have already received funding from Derbyshire Dales District Council's Community Grant Scheme will not normally be funded.

Wherever possible, reasonable access for disabled people should be maximised.

Additional criteria for individuals, or groups

  • The project should be a new development for the people involved.
  • The project must develop the skills of the people involved.

Additional criteria for festival committees

  • The festival is held over a minimum of 4 days.
  • The festival must have been running on an annual or bi- annual basis.
  • The festival is projected to attract a minimum audience of 4000.
  • The festival has a varied arts programme including at least one event which is free and accessible to the general public and at least one participatory arts event.
  • The festival caters for all ages and has at least one event specifically aimed at young people.
