Needles and syringes

We are responsible for keeping the District clean and free of litter. Discarded needles, syringes and other drug related items can sometimes be found in public areas including parks and public conveniences.

These items should be treated as potentially hazardous and we advise the public not to pick them up.

Please contact us to report any discarded needles or syringes.  Please help by providing as much of the following information as possible:

  • The exact location of the needles or other drugs items
  • An estimate of the number of items
  • A brief description of what has been found
  • Are the needles near where children might play

We will arrange to remove them and dispose of them safely.
