One of our statutory duties is to undertake period reviews of the air quality in the district.

To ensure that air quality within Derbyshire Dales remains of good quality we have a number of roles in controlling air pollution including:
- Issuing permits under the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2010 to certain industrial processes that have the potential to cause air pollution
- Periodically assessing and reviewing air quality in the district
- Investigating complaints about issues such as bonfires, smoking chimneys, fumes and odours
