Stray dogs

In the event that a dog is caught straying, the Dog Warden will attempt to trace the owners and return it. This process is simplified if the dog is tagged or micro-chipped. If the owner is traced a penalty of £47.10 will be issued. If the owner cannot be traced then the dog will be impounded and there is then a fee to reclaim your dog.

The cost for the collection and retention of a dog and all statutory fees in relation to the Environmental Protection Act 1990 is £50.75 plus a daily kennelling fee of £13.20.
