Stray dogs

In the event that a dog is caught straying, we will attempt to trace the owners and return it.  This process is simplified if the dog is tagged or microchipped.  If the owner is traced a penalty of £57.20 will be issued.  If the owner cannot be traced then the dog will be impounded and there is then a fee to reclaim your dog.

Please note that from 6 April 2016 a new law means that all pet dogs must be microchipped. Failure to comply could result in a fine of up to £500.
