About Derbyshire Dales
The District covers 800sq. kms (about a third of Derbyshire) and has a population of around 69,700 people. It has four market towns: Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock and Wirksworth, each serving large rural catchments. There are also over 100 villages.

The Derbyshire Dales is one of Britain's most scenic areas. It includes much of the Peak District National Park and yet is situated within two hours drive of almost half the UK population.

This is a Map of Derbyshire Dales, which has a number of the major towns depicted and the rivers coloured in blue. The image is a composite that was created from a large number of aerial photographs of the region.
