Queen's Diamond Jubilee
To mark 60 years of The Queen's reign, the Diamond Jubilee will take place in 2012. Celebrations will centre on an extended weekend between Saturday 2nd and Tuesday 5th June.
The bank holiday for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee will be on Tuesday 5th June. To form a long weekend of celebration, the late May bank holiday will be moved to Monday 4th June.
Jubilee Beacons – 4th June 2012

Thousands of beacons and bonfires will be lit around the world on the 4th June 2012 to commemorate Her Majesty The Queen's 60 year reign over the UK and as head of the Commonwealth.
All bonfires will be entered into a commemorative book which will be presented to the Queen and a photograph will be taken from space and a series of special aircraft around the country to show the bonfires and beacons in full flame at 10.00pm.
Parish Councils and Town Councils throughout the Derbyshire Dales have been invited to host Jubilee Beacons in their area to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. We will update this page with confirmed beacons in the coming weeks.

Grants
We have launched a grant scheme designed to leave a legacy in the Dales following the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in June. Applications for grant aid are invited towards activities such as jubilee events & street parties, jubilee beacons, commemorations & enhancements to the community (such as tree planting schemes). Grants of between £50 and £200 will be available to each applicant.
Organising a street party
If you are planning on organising a street party, you will need to notify us so that any necessary road closures can be put into place. Further information can be found on our street/road closure web page.
If you are planning to sell alcohol or play music at your event, you may need a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) from us.
There's useful street party information at www.streetparty.org.uk.
