Council performance

The latest assessment by the Audit Commission, completed in December 2009, placed the District Council as the joint highest scoring council in Derbyshire with only four district councils in England rated better overall.   The Audit Commission found that Derbyshire Dales District Council:

  • performs well
  • delivers good value for money
  • is tackling issues that local people recognise as priorities
  • continues to achieve efficiency savings

Derbyshire Dales District Council's Performance Plan and Summary Budget is an essential management and monitoring tool. The Plan contains information about all of the District Council's services linked to the aims and objectives of the District Council's Corporate Plan. The purpose of the Plan is to give details of the District Council’s performance in delivering local services and its plans to further improve.  

During 2009/10 we:

  • delivered 94% of our Corporate Plan targets up from 81% in 2008/09
  • improved in 45% of National Indicators since 2008/09
  • improved in 62% of Priority Local Indicators since 2008/09
