The general management of on-street parking is the responsibility of Derbyshire County Council, as the Highway Authority within the Derbyshire Dales.  Enforcement is carried out by Derbyshire Constabulary's Traffic Wardens.

However, the District Council has taken responsibility for the day to day management of a number of "Resident Only" and "Pay and Display" parking spaces, which fall within the County Council's Controlled Parking Zones in Bakewell.
