An offer has been accepted by Derbyshire Dales District Council for the sale of the Sherwood Hall site, including Sherwood Cottage.

The offer was from Highgrange Partnership Homes Limited of Derby in the sum of £920,000, this being seen to reflect the site's full market value. The sale is subject to the purchaser obtaining planning consent for the redevelopment of the site. The prospective purchaser has indicated that the proposed use of the site is for the development of affordable homes for rent and shared ownership in partnership with Nottingham Community Housing Association.

The capital receipt from the sale of the Sherwood Hall site will be utilised as part of the funding for the new Central Area Leisure Centre.
