The electoral register that will be used for any elections being held in 2008 will be published on 1 December 2007. This register is updated throughout the year so if you have moved house recently or been missed off the electoral register, it is still possible to register.
David Wheatcroft, Chief Executive of Derbyshire Dales District Council, said: “The Dales usually has one of the highest voting turnouts in the country and it is vital for people to register if this is to continue. I would also like to remind 16 and 17 year olds that they could vote as soon as they are 18 years of age providing that their names have been included on the register.”
To check that you have been included in the electoral register contact the District Council’s helpline 01629 761335 or email electoral@derbyshiredales.gov.uk
