Derbyshire Dales District Council’s Energy Advisor and a representative from Warm Front, the Government’s insulation and heating grant provider, saw over 20 people on Tuesday 19 June at drop in sessions in Ashbourne, Matlock and Bakewell.
Advice was given on all the measures available through Warm Front such as cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, draught proofing and in some cases heating repairs or installation. Along with energy advice and information on discounted energy saving schemes.
“Residents don’t usually apply for Warm Front at this time of year, but it’s an ideal time to beat the autumn rush” said Derbyshire Dales Energy Advisor Claire Simmons.
A previous Warm Front applicant Miss S Roskilly of Matlock said: “My boiler kept breaking down leaving me with no hot water or heating. I spoke to the District Council’s Energy Advisor who told me that as I received Disability Living Allowance I was eligible for a Warm Front grant. I applied and it didn’t take long for an assessor to come out and get the work started. My home is much warmer thanks to receiving a new boiler. There was also enough grant left over to have loft insulation installed. My energy bills should be much lower from now on. I’d really recommend finding out about the Warm Front grant”.
If you receive Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance or an income related benefit you may be eligible for a Warm Front Grant.
