Practical support:
- Meeting space at Bath Street Offices, Bakewell
- Use of computer, email and internet
- Use of photocopier
- Use of phone and fax
- Use of laminator
- Loan or hire of display boards, projector (Overhead and Powerpoint), laptop
Help and Advice on:
- Management committees and trustee issues
- Management of voluntary and community groups
- Fundraising - including sessions on FunderFinder
- Legal issues for the voluntary and community sector
- Developing policies
Support to develop your group:
Support in taking ideas and putting them into practice
- Linking organisations; facilitating new networks
- Information and resources, including a monthly mailings on current news in voluntary and community sector such as new funding streams, training and events, plus a resources library
- Training tailored to needs of your group
Working with the statutory sector and other bodies:
- Linking local organisations with regional and national voluntary sector bodies
- Facilitate representation at meetings between the voluntary sector and statutory bodies and partnerships
Signposting:
- We keep a database of contacts we have made in the voluntary and community sector in the Dales and can often signpost you to the service you’re looking for
- We also run a project called Signpost – this is an information and signposting service for children and families – contact 01629 810900 for more information

In pursuit of this vision for the Derbyshire Dales our mission is to:
- Support and develop a structure for the voluntary and community sector to give it stability, visibility and status.
- Provide direct services to support local voluntary and community groups
- Encourage and facilitate communication and co-operation among voluntary and community groups
- Encourage and facilitate communication and co-operation between voluntary and community groups and public and private bodies
- Support the development of good practice and high ethical standards in voluntary and community groups
- Act as an advocate for, and enable representation by local voluntary and community groups
- Identify and respond to need by promoting the establishment of new organisations, or the development of current organisations, to fill gaps in local services
- Encourage innovation within the sector
- Monitor and evaluate the work of the voluntary and community sector and reflect this in our work
