The Derbyshire Dales will be a place where all residents and visitors have the opportunity to take part in sport, recreation and cultural activities, as often as they wish, to a level that suits their personal goals and aspirations.
There are opportunities for people to take part in a wide range of activities, both formal and informal, from playing badminton to visiting museums.
Derbyshire Dales District Council has published strategies for both Leisure and Culture in order to develop these services for the better enjoyment of local residents and visitors to the district.

Autumn Activity Programme and changes to booking procedures
Derbyshire Dales District Council is pleased to announce that the 2008 Autumn Activity Programme is now available.
The programme comprises of many activities, all delivered by qualified coaches including Football, Gymnastics, Tennis and Table Tennis.
For further information please see general booking information within the programme.
All courses will be delivered at indoor venues to ensure that no course is cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
All courses will start week commencing 22 September 2008 and will finish on week ending 5 December 2008.
Please note courses will not be taking place during the half term week 27 - 31 October 2008.
A hard copy of the programme will be available from all District Council Leisure Centres, Tourist Information Centres and Libraries.
New Autumn Activity Programme 2008
There are some changes to the way course bookings are made. When booking onto any course, please contact the District Council Leisure Centre closest to where the course you select is taking place.
Please note: Payment will be required at the time of booking and any cancellations must be made with a minimum of 24 hours notice.
