Satellite Dishes

As a rule planning permission is not required for the erection of a single satellite dish that does not exceed 90cm in size, and does not protude above the highest part of the roof, or if installed on a chimney stack does not exceed 45cm and is not higher than the highest part of the stack.

Listed Building Consent will be required for the erection of any size of satellite dish in the following circumstances;

  • On a block of flats where there is already one or more satellite dishes;
  • In a Conservation Area where the satellite dish fronts the road or public footpath. And / Or;
  • On commercial premises such as a shop, pub or club.
