Derbyshire Dales District Council are responsible for the determination of applications for planning permission and listed building consent outside of the Peak District National Park.
In accordance with Central Government advice and sound planning practice, the majority of applications submitted to the Authority for determination are determined under delegated authority which the Council have granted to the Planning Services Manager following consultation with Elected Councillors. The remaining applications are determined by either the Central & Northern Area Planning Committee of the Southern Area Planning Committee.
The Central & Northern Area Planning Committee is held at the Town Hall, Matlock and deals with applications submitted in the following Parishes:-

The Southern Area Planning Committee is held at the Ashbourne Sports & Community Centre, Clifton Road, Ashbourne and deals with applications submitted in the following Parishes:-
