From the 1st April 2008 Derbyshire Dales District Council will only accept planning applications made on the new 1 APP planning application forms. These forms will be available from the Planning Reception, Town Hall, Bank Road, Matlock or to download from our website from the 25th March 2008. The Planning Services Section is located within the Council's Planning and Development Services Department. The section is essentially responsible for the promotion and control of development and the conservation and enhancement of the environment. The work of the planning service is split into a number of specialist teams. These teams comprise:
Development Control and Enforcement - responsible for the processing of planning applications, applications for listed building consent and conservation area consent. Decisions are made after taking account of the Councils planning policies and development briefs, government guidance and the individual merits of each scheme.

Planning Policy and Environment - responsible for the formulation of planning policy to guide and encourage future development, the management of conservation areas, listed buildings, tree and hedgerow preservation and landscape design.

Planning Services Support - deals with requests for a wide range of planning information including land charge search enquiries, provision of plans and copies of decision notices and general requests for information.
