29 September 07 21st Century Village & Community Conference, Peak District Sustainable Energy Group Conference, Lady Manners School, Bakewell

10am - 4pm The aim of the event is to:

Showcase examples of local energy generation; show how communities can generate energy for themselves; develop opportunities and support emerging community projects; look at the best ways for communities to get organised to make a difference on climate change.  Guest speakers Alistair McDonald, Penney Poyzer and Tracy Todhunter.  For more details see Derbyshire Rural Community Council website

FIRE SAFETY CHECKS - The Energy Advice Centre is working with the Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service to promote home safety checks, all Derbyshire Dales residents who have a fire safety check will recieve 4 free low energy lightbulbs.  For more details and to arrange a home safety check please click on the link

Trees were planted for 6 babies who had been nominated as they were born in National Tree week 2006.

1 & 2 August 07 Climate Change Vehicle at Bakewell Show

Come onboard the vehicle to find out all about carbon dioxide (CO2) and how we can reduce our emissions. Pledge to the Everybody's Talking campaign and join residents all across Derbyshire in reducing their carbon emissions.

18 August 07 Asbourne Show, Osmaston, Ashbourne

15 September 07 Did You Know Day? Agricultural Business Centre, Bakewell

FREE event at the Agricultural Business Centre in Bakewell open 10am to 4pm. Ever wondered about what leisure services are available in Bakewell, how to start your family tree, what benefits you might be entitled to, what services age concern offer, how to reduce your carbon footprint or what fun things you can make with recycled materials? Then come and find out the answers to these questions and whole host more. A healthy walk will be leaving the ABC during the morning *time to be confirmed* to book your place on this walk please contact 01629 761304 before Fri 14th Sept. Places limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
