You can now pay a Council Tax Bill, a Non-Domestic Rate Bill, a Sundry Debtor Invoice, an Excess Charge Notice and make other payments online using a debit card or a credit card.

Simply click on the link below and you will be taken to the secure on-line payments page. You will be taken through a five stage process where you will need to enter the details of the bill you want to pay and then the details of your debit or credit card.

Make a payment online

The following options are available on the on-line payments page:

Council Tax – you will need to enter the account reference number from your Council Tax bill in the ‘Reference Number’ box on the payments page (this is an 8 digit number beginning with '3').

National Non-Domestic Rates – you will need the account reference number from your Rates bill in the ‘Reference Number’ box on the payments page (this is an 8 digit number beginning with '7').

Invoices – you will need the invoice number from your invoice in the ‘Reference Number’ box on the payments page (this is an 8 digit number beginning with either '8' or '4').

Excess Charge Notices (car parking) - you will need to enter the 5 digit number from your Notice in the ‘Reference Number’ box on the payments page. If your Notice only shows a 4 digit number, please add a 0 (zero) at the front of the number to make it a 5 digit number.

Other Payments – this option should only be chosen where you are making a payment for a service where a bill or invoice has not been issued, for example, where you are making a payment as part of an application for a licence or a car park season ticket. You will need to select which service and which specific item within that service you are paying for.

When making a payment on-line, please be aware that it can take up to 3 working days for your payment to reach the Council.

Check your account balance - you can also check the balance outstanding on your Council Tax or Business Rates account. To do this, click on the following link (you will need the account reference number shown on your bill)  - Check your account balance
