Profile: Born Press near Ashover 4 September 1939, moved to Hathersage in 1955. In 1959 served two and a half years National Service, mainly in Germany. Then worked full time in the scrap metal trade. Also served 37 years in the Derbyshire Fire Service at Hathersage Station. Member of Royal British Legion for over 40 years, standard bearer for last 12 years. Have served on Derbyshire Dales District Council for nearly 10 years.
